Police inspector Don (Nick Cheung) works with stool pigeons - dangerous informants willing to rat on others for the right price. Don is also wracked with guilt after the near death of his prior stool pigeon Jabber ( Kai Chi Liu), who is now insane and living out of cardboard boxes. Don learns that a jewelry heist gang led by a man known named Barbarian (Yi Lu) is back in Hong Kong and setting up for their next score. 13-years-old Ne Mo, who was born from a single mother, dreams of marrying a single mother. After the sudden death of his mother, the store which his mom operated is rented by Boo Ja, who is also a single mother. Boo Ja lives with her son Ki Cheol. Ne Mo feels that Boo Ja is part of his fate and, even though he is only 13-years-old, he proposes to her.

One day, Ne Mo, Boo Ja, and Ki Cheol all go to the theater together to watch a movie. A fire erupts in the theater and Ki Cheol becomes trapped inside. No Me runs back into the theater to save Ki Cheol. Ki Cheol is rescued, but Ne Mo goes missing. The next moment, Ne Mo wakes up and sees two men arguing.

Ne Mo wakes up 20 days later. He isn't 13-years-old anymore and is actually 33-years-old. Even though Ne Mo went to heaven too early, he can't go back to the regular world due to rules in heaven. Ne Mo then makes a deal with the Angel of Death. The deal is that one day for Ne Mo will equal one year. He has 60 days on Earth, but those 60 days are really 60 years to him. Ne Mo can only live until Christmas and he now begins his quest for love.

The Road Home is the story of a country girl and a young teacher falling in love, and the teacher's death many years later that brings their son back from the big city for the funeral. The film begins in black and white in present-day China when the son (Sun Honglei) returns to his village from the city upon hearing of his father's death. His mother, Zhao Di (Zhao Yulian), insists upon following the tradition of carrying the coffin back to their remote village by foot so that her husband's spirit will remember its way home. As the narrator, the son recounts the story of his parents' courtship, so famous that it has gained the status of a legend in the village. It is here the bleak black and white turns into vivid colors as the story shifts to the past. His father, Luo Changyu (Zheng Hao), came to the village as the teacher. Immediately, Zhao Di (Zhang Ziyi) became infatuated with him and he with her. Thus began a courtship which consisted mostly of the exchange of looks and glances between the two. Unfortunately, the courtship was interrupted when Luo was summoned by the government to return to the city. (Several reviewers have speculated that the flashback portion of the film is set during the Anti-Rightist Campaign and that Luo's recall was for investigation and questioning.[2][3][4]) Zhao Di's heart was broken; she insisted on waiting for him in the snow and fell so ill that the villagers thought she would die. However, upon hearing news of her illness, the teacher was able to sneak back to the village and Zhao Di, in tears, welcomed the sight of her beloved. Still, their love would not be consummated for a few years more because the teacher was kept away from the village as punishment for having left his assignment in the city without permission. Returning to the present day, and black and white, the son realizes how important this ritual of carrying the coffin back to village is to his mother, Zhao Di, and he agrees to make all necessary arrangements to fulfill her wish. He is told by the mayor of the village that it might be difficult to find enough porters to carry the father home, as there are few young able men left in the village. The mayor and the son reach an agreement on the price to be paid to the porters. But when the procession sets out, more than 100 people show up to help carry home the casket of the man who was their teacher through various generations in the village. The mayor returns the money to the son, as no one will accept payment for doing what they consider to be an honor rather than a task. On the morning of the day the son leaves to return to his job in the city, he fulfills his father's dream and teaches a class in the old schoolhouse that was central to his parents having fallen in love, using the textbook his father had written himself.

In the early 1600's, the Manchurians have taken over sovereignty of China and established the Ching Dynasty. While many nationalist revolts still brew within the martial artists' community, the newly set-up government immediately imposes a Martial Arts Ban, forbidding the practice of martial arts altogether in order to gain control and order. Wind Fire (Sun Hong-Lei), a surrendered military official from the previous dynasty, sees this as an opportunity to make a fortune for himself by helping to execute the new law. Greedy, cruel, and immoral, Wind Fire ravages the North-western China, and his next goal is to attack the final frontier, Martial Village. Fu Qingzhu, a retired executioner from the previous dynasty, feels the need to put a stop to this brutality and sets out to save Bowei Fortress. He brings Wu Yuanyin and Han Zhiban from the village with him to Mount Heaven to seek help from Master Shadow-Glow, a hermit who is a master of swords and leads a group of disciples of great swordsmanship. Master Shadow-Glow agrees to help, and orders four of his best disciples to go. Together with Chu Zhaonan, Yang Yunchong, Mulong, and Xin Longzi, the SEVEN SWORDS is formed and their heroic journey begins. As they lead the entire village to the road of a safer place, they begin to encounter mysterious confusion. Food and water is poisoned, and trails of escape are marked with signs leading the enemy to them. They soon realize that there is an undercover spy, and the SEVEN SWORDS must identify him/her before Wind Fire's army gets to them. Between this narrow gap of life and death, the situation is further complicated by the blossoms of love

Based on the comic by Tsuchida Seiki, inspired by the artist's own life experience, this film portrays the loss and regeneration of the life of four men.

The third film of Jang Woo-jin is a tapestry containing two stories: one is about a man and his wife wandering around Chuncheon and the other is about a soldier and a woman visiting him in the army.

One cold winter, Hee Tae is diagnosed as terminally ill. He receives a letter from his ex-wife who divorced him and left 10 years ago. She wants their son, Min Sang′s name to be registered under Hee Tae′s family registry for a stable life. Hee Tae wants to see his son before he dies, as the boy was born after the divorce and he has never seen his face. He agrees to her request on the condition that his son spends two nights with him at his home in the mountains. When Min Sang sees his father for the first time he is more than a little uncomfortable staying with him in the mountains. However, the boy becomes interested in the surroundings and feels closer to Hee Tae.
